Costume Fun

My little clown!

Owen (clown), Kayden (Tinkerbell), Wade (Originally dressed as the dinosaur, but put on a Snow White dress for the picture), Beren (Batman), and Tristan (Originally dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, but grabbed the dinosaur costume that Wade abandoned.)

Rachel is the tiger and I am the nice witch.  :)
This was the extent of the boys Halloween activities.  We made candy lollipops last night to bring to the daycare, so they do get a little Halloween treat.  Every year I debate in my mind what to do about Halloween.  Our town has trick-or-treating downtown where all the shops open their doors and the whole town descends to get candy.  So far, my boys are young enough that they don't know what they are missing.  In some ways I see it as a harmless way to get dressed up and get candy, but then I think about what the holiday is celebrating and I don't want them to be involved.  Another one of those parenting lines that I need to figure out where to draw!

Cammy's Visit

We went to a Pumpkin Party at a friend's house.  This is my only picture from the party! My little pumpkin!

I love how he is just going after this drumstick.

These two got to go to Spokane with Daddy to pick up the tile for our new house.

On the way back they stopped at Jack-In-The-Box where they ordered off the value menu.  The manager must have felt bad for the boys, because she came out with a huge ice cream sundae and a container of bubbles for each of them.  She said it was their early birthday party.  The boys dug right in and forgot all about their burgers!

The snuggly little bear looks a little nervous about the Ninja Turtle standing next to him.

Cammy and I took the boys on a hike.  The hike was made extra strenuous by walking to the hiking site and back.  We did enjoy some of the fall colors.

Launching rocks into the tire.

Wade snacked and Owen slept on the way there.

I think she was trying to raft down the river.

The Chelan River Gorge.  It actually runs right behind the house we are living in, but this location was a couple of bends down and on the other side.

They switched roles on the way back.

We got "booed", so the boys enjoyed the candy apples!

For some fall fun, we stopped at Cider Works.  The boys rode in the apple truck.

And climbed the hay bales.

Wade was doing a little dance.  Haha!

The neighbor got this cool little go-cart for his birthday and has generously been taking the boys for rides with him.  Tristan came up to me the first day asking if he could ride in the ghost car.  I was wondering what creepy person was offering him a ride until I figured out he was trying to say go-cart.

Wade can make Owen laugh better than anybody.  Check out what Owen does when he sees Wade.

Music: Keep It or Trash It

Ok, I'm sure that you've noticed when you look at my blog you are entertained with music. I was skeptical to put this on my blog. Sometimes I don't like when music starts playing on other people's blogs, and sometimes I go specifically to someone's blog just to listen to their music! (That's you, Jenny!) I've had it for about a month now, and I would like your opinion on it. Should I keep it just like it is? Keep it, but change the music selection (if so, what would you like to hear?) or just trash it completely? Please be honest! I'll start...I like listening to the music for the most part, but it is really annoying when I want to watch a video and I can't hear the video over ABBA belting out Dancing Queen. I say trash it...probably....maybe....I don't know...what do you think?

Another Bike Rider!!!

They look alike today.

Being brave

Yes, that is a snake!  It is dead.  I think there's probably a frog in his pocket too!  :)

Grandma bought the boys matching jammies.

Happy Boys!

 Happy Birthday Grandpa
I was trying to get a pic of all three boys in their matching jammies.  Wade wanted nothing to do with it and kept avoiding my camera.  But I caught him!!  (In more ways than one!)
I just have to keep taking pictures of daddy's big helper!

Seeing a legal buck around here is only possible the week before hunting season, on private property, without a gun.

 Reading with Uncle Garrett

My sweet baby is working on more teeth.

Wade rides a two-wheel bike now!!  I mean, Tristan learned last month, so it must be time for little brother to learn!  He is not the most motivated pedaler, so he forgets and then starts tipping over.  No training wheels, just out there riding around at 2 1/2 years old.  Crazy kid.  He needs a little help getting going, and I like to stay close so he doesn't have a total crash, as his legs aren't long enough to reach the ground to catch himself. So, I tried to get Tristan to take a video of us, but umm...I don't think he was getting the whole concept, so I have a couple pieces of video, neither of which really shows the part where Wade was riding.  I will try to figure out a way to get a better video for you!  :)

House Pictures

Garage doors going in

Drywall

The boys liked his stilts!

View from our bedroom into the bathroom straight ahead and the study on the left.  The door to the living room is on the right.

I took this picture a couple of days ago, and of course it is outdated already.  The downstairs now has soffit and lap siding.
Garrett came from South Carolina for a week to help us work on the house.  He was a big help in figuring out this arch on the front of the house.  He also did lots of siding!!!  Thanks so much for all your hard work!

Nose Picker

Me:  Tristan, please stop picking your nose.
(Tristan gives me his head-tilt innocent look.)
Tristan:  I was just touching my nose bone.

Last Swim of the Season?

It might have been!  The air temperature was around 80, but the water temp has dropped to about 65.  With the cooler weather coming, it's not getting any warmer in there, so this may have been the last dip of the year!

Playing mom and dad.  Obviously Wade is the mom, I mean he is in the passenger seat and he put my clip in his hair!

Jason's Airplane Ride

On Saturday Jason and Sue flew up to Chelan for a bit.  I was babysitting a little girl and we had a birthday party to go to, so I didn't get to go to the airport, but Jason and Tristan went.  Jason got to take a ride with the other Jason.  :)  What fun!  It is a good reminder to me what a beautiful place we live in!!
Wapato Point.  I love the color of the water in this picture!

Our little mountain lake.  Actually, Lake Chelan is quite large!  Well, almost 60 miles long anyway.

There's the house we are building.  (The one with no landscaping yet.)

Aerial view of the spec house that we built a few years ago.

The City of Chelan

There's where we live now!  What?  You can't see which house?  Oh, well, me neither!
