We left Chelan about 6 pm on 6/19. Loaded up the Pathfinder and off we went.
We drove straight through the night to Las Vegas. Our first stop was our old house where we used to live when we were first married! The landscape has changed....it has grass now where it used to have rock and shrubs, but otherwise looks pretty much the same!
We swung by the school I used to teach at.
Then we went to Ted and Kathy Johnston's house. The boys got to paint.
We enjoyed Wed mtg at Blazek's where we used to go. Thursday morning Johnstons took us out on their boat up the river just beyond the Hoover Dam. We have only boated on Lake Mead, never on the other side of the dam! It was awesome!
Owen really snuggled up to Cathy.
Bighorn sheep on the side of the river.
We hiked up to Arizona Hot Springs. You can see the run-off here.
The boys got in the habit of saying whatever represents the picture. This one was "hot springs".
In order to get up to the pools we had to climb this ladder up the waterfall.
Everyone made it and got to enjoy this pool at the top! Don't fall!
This water was the temperature of bath water. As we got higher the pools got hotter. The highest one was very uncomfortable and turned my legs red right away.
Waterslides on the way back down.
Peeking through a hole in the rock.
The new bridge that was under construction when we moved.
Some of our friends' new paint store!
Riley came with us down to the strip.
Chocolate fountains.
Bellagio gardens
The new City Center
Bryanna and Ellie hosted a pool party so we could hang out with some of the kids.
Anna and Shannon
The Foss family. It was so fun to meet Jacob!
The Leach family joined up with us and we hung out at the Flamingo.
Amanda, Jayden, and Austin. We had a lot of fun sliding on the pools waterslides.
Lane, Alesha, and Annika joined up with us too. This was the 2 year old table.
This was reserved for 4 and 5 year olds.
Watching the Bellagio Fountains. Guess what the first song was! My favorite! "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion.
Loved the moon over the casino.
All new casinos
