New Updates

It has been awhile since I have updated. We haven't had anything too exciting happen in the past two weeks. I'm only 4 weeks away from my due date....Tristan is still a lot of fun. Here he is trying on a new "mitten".

Mark, Karol, Leah, and Carolyn came over for a day so that we could go to a funeral. Grandma reads to Tristan.

Tristan has a new affection for animals. Every barking dog he hears causes him to perk up his ears and immitate them. Cats are also very fun. This is Felix, and Tristan enjoyed pulling his tail.

The only other news is about the spec house. It is coming along very nicely. In the past two weeks it has been painted (interior), the wood floor has been laid, and the tile is being laid. The exterior coverings have also been completed. It looks really nice, but we are still looking for a buyer! :)

Tristan Update

Tristan had his 1-year appointment this past week. He is 20.5 lbs (15%), 29.5 in (30%) and his head is 45.5 cm (15%). The Dr. says that he is a very healthy boy and makes up for his size by being advanced in other areas.

Last week Sunday in gospel meeting Tristan demonstrated a new word. He threw his toothbrush on the floor, and I told him "no, no" and took it away. Ten minutes later, he was looking at a book and threw it on the floor. He said "no, no" and shook his finger. Good thing he couldn't see me laughing!! He has been working on his "no, no" all week and is getting pretty good. Everytime he does something that he knows he's not supposed to do, he tells himself "no, no." So far it hasn't really stopped him from doing it though. :) It is pretty nice for me, because if he is out of my sight I know when he does something wrong, I just have to listen for his "no, no." I don't know where he ever learned that phrase from! :)

Go Packers!!!!!

Mom and Dad S. came to town this weekend to watch the big game. They got a hotel suite, and we all brought snacks over to watch the Packers vs. Seahawks. Karol didn't really care about football too much, so she decided that she would support her daughter-in-law and wear Packer gear! Even my dear husband bailed on me this week!

We had a Packer room (which was pretty empty) and a Seahawk room (where all the guys were). Leah stayed with us to keep us company. This picture was obviously taken before the game started and Leah was still somewhat optimistic. :)

Tristan dangerously ventured into the Seahawks room and came out looking like this! He made the mistake of going in there again a little later and came out without a shirt on! Those are angry Seahawk fans!!! Anyway, we are very excited that the Packers pulled off a great win and will face the Giants this coming week.

Congratulations Matt and Amanda Leach on the birth of their little girl, Jayden Ray. She was born last night, so I don't have pictures yet. She is 6 lbs 8 oz and 18.5 inches long. We can't wait to meet her and see her mom and dad, too!!!

Weeks of Updates

I am long overdue in updating you with what is happening in our lives. Like many of you, we have been very busy over the holidays. I apologize for the length of this post, but just sit back and enjoy.
Tristan got lots of "rides" in the past few weeks, as you will see in the upcoming pictures. Here he is enjoying a ride in Daddy's coveralls.

We drove over to Sequim for Christmas. We were dropping off this dump truck that we had been borrowing. Tristan enjoyed riding next to Daddy in the big dump truck.

Once in Sequim, Tristan sort of enjoyed his 4-wheeler ride.

Tristan goes for a magic carpet ride.

Everyone joins in the fun.

Tristan takes a ride in the massaging chair.

And a ride on Daddy's back in the pool!

We went to the Marriott for 2 nights over Christmas Eve and Christmas. It has a beautiful atrium with a nice pool. Our rooms had patio doors that opened right out to the pool area. Other than Tristan getting a little bit of the stomach flu just as we were getting there, we had a wonderful time!

All tired out

Cody brought along a toy ambulance, and Tristan enjoyed driving it around the hotel.

Brandon and Julie

Tristan's Grandpa and Grandma got him a couple of presents for Christmas.

Tristan loves the John Deere tractor that he got!!!

Tristan meets his beautiful second-cousin, Taylor Anne, who's 9 months old. Her mom, Angela, is Jason's first cousin.

Tristan turns 1!!!!

We celebrated his birthday a few days early so that we could have a party with the family. He shared his party with Jason (24), Carolyn (26), and Caleb (2).

He loves the balloons, which he of course calls a ball.

Tristan, did you blow that up yourself?

Happy Birthday to my precious little boy!!!

Before you think he is totally spoiled, remember that he shared his birthday party (and presents) with 3 others. Only the 3 presents on the far right are his.

Why is everyone singing to me?

"Oh, Wow, is this all for me?"

Cousins are great, but I'm digging in!

Not sure how much is actually making it into his mouth!

Jason's turn. 24 cupcakes and his favorite chocolate pudding cake.

Checking back in with Tristan...

Present time! Thanks Auntie Leah!

Wow, look at this cool riding toy!

Even Jason got a present!

A new backpack

We went hiking out to the Dungeness Spit

We attended Ryan Wahlin and Michelle Leibrand's wedding.

Tristan is tempted by a container of cookies.

After our time in Sequim, we headed over to Montana and spent New Year's weekend with the Buckingham's in Thompson Falls.

We went sledding

This is Mandy, Robbie Buckingham's wife. She is a wonderful friend!

Tristan sat in the snow for about half an hour just picking it up and eating it!

Robbie and Mandy are building a house behind his parents'. Jason and Tristan being dangerous!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To follow tradition, some made the annual run out to the mailbox in bare feet. The mailbox is a long way away, so they ran out to the fence instead, which still was way too far for a big, fat pregnant lady to go!

Newlyweds: Jason gets in a bit of trouble for this shirt.

We got Tristan his first Schwinn for his birthday. It is pretty sly. He just saw it for the first time this morning and has been sitting on it all day! He rings the bell and plays with the leather tassels. He can't wait until he can actually reach the pedals!
